Jessica Marquis came 2nd in the Senior Girls division and the Grade 8 girls team of Lauren Pudek and Grace Stanhope combined their 3rd and 4th place finishes to take the Bantam Girls championship trophy. The combined efforts of Emily Duncan-Hansen (2nd) Meghan Campbell and Kirsten Calder-Sutt (5th) resulted in the Grade 9 girls winning the Juvenile Girls championship. Great job riders! On Wednesday afternoon, the Chatelech Mountain Bike Team wrapped up the 6-race North Shore Mountain Bike League series against school teams from North Van, West Van, Squamish, Whistler & Pemberton. Through the season, riders from Chatelech had a number of terrific results in all age categories. With the League Championship race yesterday, points earned through the season were totaled & awards handed out. Once again, Chatelech riders were well represented in the medal standings: Bantam Girls: Grace Stanhope - 1st Laren Pudek - 2nd Juvenile Girls: Holly Feniak - 1st Emily Duncan-Hansen - 4th Meghan Campbell - 9th Kirsten Calder-Sutt - 10th Junior Boys: Louis Dillon - 1st Jonas Lomax - 4th Senior Boys: Drew Dannes - 7th Senior Girls: Jessica Marquis - 2nd In team results, the Chatelech Bantam/Juvenile Girls won the League Championship and will proudly hang their Banner in the Gym this spring! Our team faced some steep competition against senior only teams- despite having many juniors on our team. In the end- Chat played with class and honour on the field and was awarded a banner for Spirit of the Game and finished middle of the pack for overall results in the zone. The Chat ultimate team played in their first game of the season on Friday against Sutherland Secondary. Our mixed grade team with players from grade 8 - 12 had their work cut out for them as they played a team that had only seniors on it. Despite being down by 4 points in the middle of the game, Chat came back strong and won 15-13. Well done team. Our next game is against West Vancouver on Wednesday. All Ultimate Team players need to meet Mr. Mani for a brief meeting at the start of lunch today in computer lab 103.
