B.C. MINISTRY OF EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the British Columbia school system is to enable all learners to develop their individual potential and to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to contribute to a healthy, democratic and pluralistic society and a prosperous, sustainable economy.
PURPOSE
We assist students to become educated citizens and lifelong learners by:
- providing them with safe, accessible learning environments;
- challenging and supporting them to achieve individual excellence;
- offering them opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes; necessary to become successful and productive members of society;
- encouraging them to direct, evaluate and take pride in their development;
- seeking and accepting direction and support from our community.
We demonstrate:

- open-mindedness and flexibility;
- independence and interdependence
- accountability for learning and for our use of resources.
